Scrapping Your Vehicle

NEW LEGISLATION THAT AFFECTS YOU!

The cashless trading measures brought into force via the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 are incorporated into the new Act, which also closes off loopholes in the earlier legislation by drawing vehicle dismantlers and former itinerant collectors (now referred to as "mobile collectors") into the cashless trading regime. Other changes include a new requirement for scrap metal dealers to verify the full names and addresses of sellers.

Please remember to bring with you your log book, keys and some form of photo identity, such as your passport or driving licence.

We'll fill in the log book for you in a proper manner, so that all is left for you to do is post the completed log book to the DVLA office. This ensures there is NO RISK to you that you may receive speeding tickets or fines for a vehicle you no longer own.

You can also be assured that your vehicle will NEVER be sold on to be put back on the road, instead it will be recycled and crshed, giving you complete piece of mind. The vehicles you can take are:

  • All types of cars including MOT failures and damaged vehicles
  • Light commercials
  • Motorcycles and scooters
AUTHORISED TREATMENT FACILITY

At Deatons we will give you a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) as soon as we take your vehicle.

Our services are available to consumers across the UK and we won't be beaten on price for your scrap cars.

With Deatons Metal Centre it doesn't matter what state your vehicle is in as we can always do something with it. Whether it be recycling the parts or compressing the shell for metal.

There are many reasons as to why you might want to sell your car for scrap, for example if your vehicle has been involved in an accident and is not really worth the cost of repairing, or maybe your car is too old to pass an MOT without expensive repairs. Whatever the case, your scrap car can still earn you some money.

At Deatons Metal Centre, we collect your scrap car for free, pay you for the scrapable parts, and take the car to our salvage yard.
